Pipefitter (Sedalia, MO)
DescriptionA Pipefitter will assemble, layout, install and maintain pipe systems. The pipe systems may include but not limited to : pipe, flanges, supports, valves, gauges, hangars, and angles.
Pipefitters may work in all parts of the construction or maintenance site including in buildings, outside, and inside structures.
The work may also include working in underground (excavations) areas and working at heights.DUTIES : Read and interpret blueprintsApply mathematics to solve problemsFabricating and installing gasketsPerforming cutting / threading operations using a machineUsing measuring tools and portable power toolsMake decisions based on measurable criteriaTesting pipe and tube installationsSecure pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power toolsInstalling pipe systems and componentsInterpreting detailed pipe sketches and blueprintInstalling valves and componentsAssist in lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installationFabricating and install pipe fitIdentifying, fabricate and installing pipe hangers and supportsRigging material and equipmentFabricating pipe systemsPerform clean up dutiesPerform other duties as requiredQualificationsSKILLS / QUALIFICATIONSUnderstand and carry out oral instructionsRead and carry out simple written instructionsRead and carry out complicated written instructionsWork at varying heightsRead and interpret detail prints and documentsAssemble and disassemble objectsOperate complex equipment and power toolsOperate small equipment and power toolsWORKING CONDITIONSWork in extreme heatWork where noise level is above 89 decibelsWork in wetness / humidityWork in cramped quartersWork in environment of fluctuating ventilationWork outsideBurns & McDonnell is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
