SUMMARY

This position is a part of our Project Management Team for our various jobsite locations throughout the northwest United States.

Engineers provide onsite engineering and technical support, quality control, construction management assistance, land surveys, and help maintain a safe working environment.

Heavy civil construction or marine construction experience is preferred. Travel is extensive.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Additional duties may be assigned.

  • Development of project work element plans and JSAs.
  • Coordinate project definable features of work with Manson superintendents, foremen, craft workers, and subcontractors.
  • Computer Aided Drafting for analysis of lift equipment capabilities and depiction of work method sequencing.
  • Critical path scheduling and 3 week look ahead scheduling.
  • Review designs, drawings, and engineering data prepared by Manson consultants and vendors for conformance with project plans and specifications, and identify associated conflicts.
  • Investigation and research for needed permanent and consumable material items, equipment, and tools.
  • Inspection of newly delivered permanent materials for conformance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate project activities with the client's representatives and other project stakeholders.
  • Falsework Design.
  • Monitor of Manson and its subcontractors' operations.
  • Daily operations and quality control reporting.
  • Project photographic records.
  • General project support.
  • Ensures compliance with Manson's Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
  • Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May directly supervise engineering interns.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management or Construction Management, from a four-year college or university is required.

Marine Construction Industry experience preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.

Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) and current registration as an Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required; experience with scheduling, estimating and project management software - HCSS & Primavera, preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to adverse weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.

Employee must be able to wear the personal protective equipment (PPE) required of various construction work environments (hard hats, personal floatation devices, safety glasses, gloves, safety-toed shoes, respirators, etc.

The employee is required to stand, walk, use stairs, ladders, and step stools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to navigate stairs, ladders and gangways, board, work on and disembark floating vessels and structures.
