Summary :
- Supervises the maintenance, rebuilding, and installation of plant manufacturing and warehouse equipment as well as infrastructure.
- Ensures that equipment and facilities are capable of efficiently producing high quality products.
- Works closely with the Plant Maintenance and Engineering Manager to supervise the plant's Maintenance Department and to complete capital projects as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Lead the team in the successful implementation of Lean and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies, creating a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Lead the team in the successful implementation of predictive maintenance technologies, including infrared and ultrasound, effectively driving predictive maintenance initiatives that significantly reduced equipment downtime and enhanced overall productivity.
- Directed and facilitated comprehensive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions, empowering the team to identify underlying issues and implement sustainable corrective action, improving equipment reliability and performance.
- Provided strong leadership and motivation to the team, employing strategic delegation, clear goal-setting, and consistent communication to create a cohesive, high-performing workforce.
- Ensured that all maintenance personnel are trained and up to date on the techniques and safety protocols, promoting a skilled and safety-conscious team.
- Supervised and optimized routine and preventive maintenance processes for all production equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and preventing unexpected breakdowns.
- Plans daily maintenance activities to coordinate with manufacturing and warehouse operations and prioritizes work to achieve maximum plant efficiencies.
- Evaluates and recommends improvements in methods, procedures and processes.
- Ensures that Good Manufacturing Practices and audit requirements are incorporated into maintenance and engineering activities.
- Supervises department safety, including training and accident investigation.
- Trains employees in operating, safety, and quality procedures.
- Works with Engineering Team to supervise installation and startup of capital projects.
- Responsible for Talent Management Process for staff including performance reviews, training and counseling.
- Works directly with technicians to troubleshoot and repair equipment and infrastructure.
- Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the Maintenance Storeroom.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma with minimum 8 years of relevant technical experience
- Trade school certificate preferred
- Must have knowledge of PLC's, controls, electrical equipment, and be willing to attend schools / training seminars to keep up to date in these areas
- Experience in Lean and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies, with a proven track record of driving efficiency, reducing waste, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques, including 5-Why, Fishbone diagrams, and DMAIC, enabling the identification and resolution of underlying issues to enhance system reliability and performance.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Experience in solving complex, practical problems in dynamic environments, with the ability to navigate and address a wide range of concrete variables, even in situations with minimal standardization.
- Skilled in interpreting and executing a variety of instructions, whether delivered in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, ensuring clarity and precision in all tasks.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to complete Forklift certification.
