EHS SPECIALIST

JOB SUMMARY :

EHS Specialist is responsible for managing environmental, health, and safety activities and provide technical guidance to improve workplace safety conditions and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate environmental, health, and safety activities through strong leadership and communication.
• Coordinate and provide environmental health and safety training for team members.
• Conduct new hire orientation and provide environmental health safety training.
• Investigate work related injuries and / or illnesses, provide statistical analysis, and assist in the development of effective health and safety countermeasures to continuously improve safety objectives.
• Ensure legislative compliance with Federal, state and local regulations.
• Lead the Safety Team and help to coordinate activities, recommendations, and accountability of issues identified by the team.
• Conduct routine safety observation tours, with effective follow-up.
• Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures, training, and practice drills.
• Coordinate chemical awareness training and monitor on a continuous basis.
• Environmental Responsibilities (as required) - ensure all environmental reports are submitted accurately and on time pertaining to areas such as : land; air; water and hazardous waste.
• Manage pollution prevention program according to local regulations
• Coordinate and manage hazardous waste program.
• Coordinate recycling efforts of all recyclable scrap.
• Serve as the ISO 14000 Management Representative.
• All other duties as assigned.
