About the Role :
Primoris Engineering is actively seeking a Senior Instrumentation Engineer to join our Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for specifying and designing instrumentation systems for various midstream facilities, including compressor stations, pumping stations, storage tank farms, pipelines, and gas and liquid metering facilities.
Key Responsibilities :
- Instrumentation Specification : Select and specify transmitters, meters, switches, gauges, control valves, actuated on / off valves, and other instrumentation components.
- Documentation Development : Create and maintain the instrument index, I / O list, cause and effect diagrams, and control narratives.
- Engineering Calculations : Perform wake frequency calculations, control valve sizing, and orifice plate sizing to ensure optimal performance.
- Network Architecture Support : Assist in developing network architecture, instrument location plans, wiring diagrams, and detailed installation plans.
- Project Coordination : Work closely with the project team to develop P&IDs, system control philosophies, and alarm setpoints.
- Procurement Support : Prepare RFQ packages and conduct technical evaluations during the procurement process.
- Quality Assurance : Participate in factory inspection assignments and conduct field walk downs to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in instrumentation engineering.
- Proficient knowledge of industry codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, ISA, IEC, API, and ASTM.
- Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Experience using Bluebeam Studio for collaboration and information sharing.
- Ability to review 3D models using Navisworks.
