SUMMARY DESCRIPTION :
- To oversee daily operations of the Last Chance Auction and Outlet.
- Reports directly to Last Chance Auction and Outlet Manager.
EXEMPLARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for the daily sales and operational success of the Last Chance Auction and Outlet.
- Must ensure balanced levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service leadership.
- Supervises and cross trains all store personnel including new employees in all functions of the store.
- Accountable for meeting and / or exceeding sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to staff.
- Assists with ordering merchandise and operating equipment & supplies with prior approval of Store Manager.
- Maintaining operation in a clean orderly fashion, rotating product in a timely manner (20-minute table changes), and overseeing auction pricing is maintained without prejudice to purchasing customers.
- Ensures all staff are appropriately trained on all equipment and each employee’s training documents are signed and placed in their HR employee files.
- Assists with pulled products from stores and salvage inventory in partnership with Dock to maximize revenue and return on product.
- Oversee incoming and outgoing loads. Both internal and external.
- Responsible for maintaining all safety and cleanliness standards.
- Reports safety hazards and all accidents to the Store Manager IMMEDIATELY.
- Responds to phone and computer inquiries in a timely manner each day.
- Ensures all employees adhere to current Goodwill’s Policies and Procedure. Includes but not limited to dress code / uniform standards, cell phone policy, time and attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS :
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
- High School diploma or its equivalent.
- 1 - 2 years’ supervisory experience in retail warehouse.
- Prior experience in thrift retail or consignment industry preferred.
- Positive work history.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to read and write, understand basic math.
- Ability to understand complex and simple instructions.
- Ability to handle customers effectively.
- Ability to meet deadlines and respond to special needs.
- Proficient user of MS Office (MS Excel in particular) and basic computer functions.
KNOWLEDGE :
- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to understand complex instructions.
- Knowledge of retail aftermarket / post-retail and supervision of others.
- Basic Computer Knowledge.
SKILL :
- Fluent oral and written communication skills. Bilingual a plus.
- Outstanding organizational and decision-making skills.
- Cooperation with Division Director and direct supervisors.
- Ability to supervise, direct, motivate, and discipline staff as necessary.
- Ability to work well with the public.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision in a high paced environment.
- Ability to write and respond to e-mails.
- Able to lift, carry, push and pull at least 50lbs.
