The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading the engineering team in providing outstanding engineering services to external and internal customers and cross-functional partners and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost of assigned manufacturing sites.

This position provides project management support and trains staff on new and or updated processes and standards to ensure smooth and successful transitions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering team to ensure their processes and work activities are effective and efficient including but not limited to engineering changes and quotation processes.
  • Oversee engineering quotation process to ensure bids are delivered to customers on time.
  • Identify, plan, and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Accountable for new product launch activities and improvements to existing products for assigned sites.
  • Coordinate PPAP process to ensure first pass approval on-time.
  • Lead production trial activities.
  • Prioritizing development of work instructions, process sheets, inspection criteria.
  • Work in conjunction with other departments to improve safety, product quality, processes, delivery, increase efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Identify, plan, and lead capital and operations improvement projects.
  • Set goals for the engineering department and develop and implement plans to achieve targets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • Demonstrated success working in and leading cross functional teams including project management
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with opposing opinions and capable of leading team towards best outcome
  • Demonstrated problem solver with high degree of analytical skills
  • Organized self-starter
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, Computer Aided Design and Enterprise Resource Planning software systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of plastic molding processes beneficial

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of one year in a supervisory position with direct reports, preferred
