Job Title : Lead HVAC Technician

Location : Topeka, Kansas

Start Date : July 15, 2025

Employment Type : Contract-to-Hire

Schedule : Monday to Friday, 6 : 00 AM – 3 : 00 PM

Compensation : Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead HVAC Technician to oversee and execute the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role requires a hands-on leader capable of managing projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and delivering high-quality service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision & Leadership : Lead a team of HVAC technicians, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring timely project completion.
  • System Installation & Maintenance : Oversee the installation, inspection, and maintenance of HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
  • Diagnostics & Repair : Troubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC system issues, implementing effective solutions promptly.
  • Safety Compliance : Ensure all work adheres to OSHA and EPA regulations, maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Client Interaction : Communicate effectively with clients, addressing concerns, and providing updates on project progress.
  • Inventory Management : Maintain accurate records of materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability for ongoing projects.
  • Training & Development : Mentor junior technicians, fostering skill development and promoting best practices within the team.

Qualifications

  • Experience : Minimum of 5 years in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Certification : EPA Section 608 Certification required.
  • Licensing : Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Technical Skills : Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals; adept with HVAC diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks requiring physical exertion.
  • Soft Skills : Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities; commitment to customer satisfaction.
