Position Overview :
We are seeking experienced Sign Language Interpreters to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Virtual Sign Language Interpreter, you will provide remote interpretation services for a school district in Colorado.
This is a 1099 contract position offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from the comfort of your own home.
Responsibilities :
- Provide virtual sign language interpretation for students
- Facilitate effective communication between the student and teachers during instructional time, ensuring the student's full participation in classroom activities.
- Partner with an instructional aide who will support the student on site
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel to ensure that the student's individualized educational needs are met.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times, adhering to ethical standards of practice for sign language interpreters.
Qualification Requirements :
- CDE required
- EIPA score of 4.0 or higher
- EIPA scores of 3.5 - 3.9 are eligible if scores have been received within the last 24 months. A waiver will be secured for this scenario.
- Previous experience interpreting in educational settings with children
- Excellent time management and collaboration skills
- Must pass a VocoVision technical screening (showing knowledge of the platform Zoom)
