Machine Controls and Systems Electrical Engineer

Unleash your design creativity and engineering skills to create and modify new and existing products. EMD is responsible for the design and development of highly advanced, engineered motors, generators, pumps and propulsors to the Navy and commercial industry. We are looking for an Electrical Systems and Controls Development Engineer to join our Pittsburgh, PA (Cheswick) operations. Since the early 1950's EMD has designed, engineered, manufactured, tested and delivered equipment used by the world's most demanding militaries, power generation, energy, process and industrial clients! Our engineers make the impossible a reality by delivering major technological advantages while exceeding specified performance levels.

Your Responsibilities :

Develop and create models, designs and simulations of electrical motors, generators, exciters and controls utilizing a variety of engineering tools. Role will also develop and design information for use in reports, specifications and drawings. Direct support personnel in product design, analysis, fabrication, and testing.

Salary : $75,000 - 110,000 per year

Your Challenge : \n

• \n Simulation of various types of electromagnetic equipment including electric motors, generators, exciters, rectifiers, motor drives and their needed controls . Must be comfortable creating simulations using MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape or other Electrical Specialized Power System programs. Work will include vector control and tuning for induction motors and drives .
