Systems Administrator
FirstPro is now accepting resumes for a Systems Administrator position based in Waltham, MA. This role will focus on monitoring the client's environment, troubleshooting issues, and taking care of escalated tickets in a Windows / VMWare environment.
This is a short-term contract position that must be worked onsite.
Responsibilities
- Providing general IT Support to the company's employee base, resolve end user hardware and software issues, support the company's server infrastructure.
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization, network equipment, firewalls
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
- Perform or troubleshoot regular backup operations
- Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Experience running scripting and automation tools
- A proven track record of implementing IT strategy and plans
