Work Location : Charlotte, NC - hybrid schedule (2-3 days onsite / work from home)
Duration : 12-24 months initial contract; possible extensions and / or conversion
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in information and network security.
- Experience managing large scale enterprise security solutions.
- Fundamental knowledge of networks and networking.
- Fundamental knowledge of information security and security principles.
- Fundamental knowledge of information security standards, frameworks, policies, controls, and regulations.
- Extensive experience with and knowledge of firewall and IPS technologies.
- Willingness to work frequent evenings and occasional weekends to support and implement production changes.
- 1+ year doing scripting, automation and development methodologies / tools such as Ansible, Perl.
- Fundamental understanding of software development life cycle
Desired Skills
- Experience working with Fortinet, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, and Cisco firewalls.
- Industry recognized security certifications.
- Knowledge of regulations required in a financial environment.
- Experience writing technical procedures, references, and other documentation.
- Experience working with cross functional teams.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead or participate in computer security incident response activities for moderately complex events
- Conduct technical investigation of security related incidents and post incident digital forensics to identify causes and recommend future mitigation strategies
- Provide security consulting on medium projects for internal clients to ensure conformity with corporate information, security policy, and standards
- Design, document, test, maintain, and provide issue resolution recommendations for moderately complex security solutions related to networking, cryptography, cloud, authentication and directory services, email, internet, applications, and endpoint security
- Review and correlate security logs
- Utilize subject matter knowledge in industry leading security solutions and best practices to implement one or more components of information security such as availability, integrity, confidentiality, risk management, threat identification, modeling, monitoring, incident response, access management, and business continuity
- Identify security vulnerabilities and issues, perform risk assessments, and evaluate remediation alternatives
- Work with product development team to automate daily processes
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
