The Division of Medical Genetics and Genomics, Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking a full-time geneticist with experience in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric and adult patients with clinical genetic disorders.

Candidates for this position will join existing faculty with established expertise in clinical and biochemical genetics and will have the opportunity to work collaboratively across multiple practice areas of medical genetics.

The position will include providing clinical services at Mount Sinai Health System hospitals and affiliates.

The responsibilities of the position will include outpatient and inpatient genetics consultation, and coverage of primarily genetic counselor driven prenatal genetic counseling.

In addition, candidates will supervise medical genetics and genetic counseling trainees during their clinical rotations and serve as faculty in the medical genetics graduate level course.

Opportunities are available for clinical research, clinical trials and collaboration with researchers, and strong genomics initiatives.

Job responsibilities can be tailored to the candidate’s clinical interests and experience.

The Division of Medical Genetics is a site for an ABMGG-accredited Medical Genetics fellowship, Internal Medicine-Genetics, Pediatric-Genetics residencies, Medical Biochemical Genetics fellowship and a Masters in Genetic Counseling program.

Job Requirements :

  • Candidates must be ABMGG Board-Certified / Board-Eligible in clinical genetics and licensed / license-eligible to practice medicine in New York State
  • Additional board certification in pediatrics / medicine is preferred
  • Compensation range from 235K to 255K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital / community need.

As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.

The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
