Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position, requiring an IN or compact RN license and minimum 2 years of recent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position is on the Medical / Surgical Telemetry overflow unit in a hospital setting
  • Night shift position with options for 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (19 : 00-07 : 30)
  • Floating to other units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals is required for all travelers
  • Cerner EMR system is used; experience with Cerner is required
  • Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned as needed, with appropriate training and support
  • Must be willing to assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed
  • Candidates must be able to float within the facility or to affiliate hospitals
  • Must be able to work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • Return-to-work policy requires a 12-month separation for previous perm or PRN IU employees
  • Pre-hire modules required and completed before starting the assignment

    • Requirements

  • Active IN or compact RN license in hand prior to start date
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
  • BLS and NIHSS certifications required and must be current (AHA & RQI accepted)
  • Must have graduated from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE
  • No local candidates accepted for Med / Surg Telemetry positions
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Experience with Cerner EMR required
