Job Summary :
This role ensures a clean, safe environment for animals and the public while meeting OSHA standards. Responsibilities include inspecting and maintaining shelter facilities, addressing maintenance requests, and troubleshooting minor repairs in electrical, plumbing, and equipment areas.
The position also involves performing preventive maintenance, maintaining accurate records, and providing basic IT support.
Key Duties :
Inspect and address maintenance needs of the shelter weekly.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests.
Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance.
Maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
Update records and manage data entry.
Offer IT support for hardware, software, and network issues.
Communicate issues to the Director of Facilities.
Attend meetings and training sessions.
Represent SPCA Tampa Bay professionally.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED required; vocational courses in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry preferred.
Valid Florida driver’s license.
Three years of maintenance experience.
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and basic IT troubleshooting.
Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
Genuine concern for animal welfare.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to handle exposure to animals, cleaning chemicals, noise, and outdoor elements.
Moderate physical effort including lifting up to 75 pounds, bending, and standing.
