VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS TRANSFORMATION - DALLAS, TX OR KNOXVILLE, TN OFFICE

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work with finance stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into transformation initiatives.
  • Drive change in the finance function and organization as a strategic business partner.
  • Lead accounting system modernization and transformation projects, including planning, roadmap development and goal prioritization.
  • Enhance the scope, quality and efficiency of accounting services provided to internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to creating a culture of innovation and change acceptance.
  • Manage the project to migrate our current Hyperion system to a new environment, including establishing a new chart of accounts and hierarchy for internal and external reporting.
  • Coordinate and manage key accounting projects associated with the Company's recent emergence from bankruptcy and conversion from IFRS to GAAP.
  • Play a significant role in the development and compliance of SOX controls, including ITGCs, while partnering with our external auditors to ensure compliance.
  • Manage the functional migration of on-prim systems to cloud platforms for key financial applications, including our Trintech reconciliation software.
  • Direct the evaluation and determination process for the company's long-term ERP solution, partnering with internal stakeholders and external consultants.

Includes oversight of the RFP process to evaluate vendors, address process gaps and build a detailed implementation plan.

  • Develop a comprehensive roadmap aligned with organizational strategies for finance operations, and overall company goals.
  • Lead project communication throughout the accounting department and create training programs and techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to find process inefficiencies and optimize workflows for increased output.
  • Work in tandem with the IT team to find and apply technological innovations in Finance.
  • Other special projects as assigned.

Education / Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and / or Finance required; ten to fifteen years of related experience in Project Management and / or Accounting Transformation required.
  • In-depth understanding of finance and accounting systems, including ERP and consolidation systems.
  • Strong project management and process improvement principles.
  • Understanding of strategic planning principles and approaches.
  • Effectively lead across the organization.
  • Ability to resolve differences and find consensus among leaders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong people management and motivational skills.
  • Ability to align strategic objectives, establish goals and effectively lead a portfolio of projects in collaboration with peers and executive leadership.
  • Ability to possess a comprehensive understanding of processes, system workflows and design for all key accounting applications.
  • Knowledge of large-scale change management techniques, principles, and practices, as well as organization development, are required.
  • CPA preferred and / or the equivalent experience in a public company.
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Organizational, problem solving, detail oriented,
  • Transformation management experience preferred, with a proven track record for success.
  • Experience working with point-of-sale systems and multinational retail environments.
  • Excellent reasoning and analytical skills.
  • Ability to apply concepts of accounting and to have a working knowledge of the use of technical accounting pronouncements / literature.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and assignments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong team mentality.
  • Experience in coaching and developing capabilities within delivery teams.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Outlook including advanced Excel skills including Vlookups, pivot tables, and data modelling.

Language Ability :

Should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to : (1) supervise (2) communicate with bankers, analysts, equity owners, service management, vendors, etc.

Strong written skills and presentation skills.

Math Ability :

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills :

Word processing, advanced Excel, Accounting software (General Ledger / Accounts Payable / Fixed Assets).

Supervisory Responsibilities :

To oversee the U.S. Accounting Department. This includes the supervision of two direct reports that manage each area and work closely with these individuals on determining the direction and growth of their respective staffs.
