Pride Health is hiring a Technician - Histology to support our client’s medical facility based in New York, NY 10065 . This is a 24 Week assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Title : Technician - Histology

Location : New York, NY 10065

Pay Range : $53.00 / hr to $57.00 / hr for Local Candidates

$2400 to $2600 for Travel Candidates

Shift : Days, 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM, Monday to Friday

Duration : 24 Weeks of contract with a strong possibility of extension and a possible direct-to-hire opportunity

Skill Requirements :

  • Able to gross small biopsy samples and simple routine specimens under supervision of a Pathology Assistant and Supervisor.

Educational Requirements :

  • Associate of Science degree and completion of an approved accredited Histology program OR

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

    Experience Requirements :

  • Experienced in embedding and microtomy (cutting thin tissue sections) of all surgical specimens.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience specifically in histology related to biopsy specimens and dermatology (skin) samples.

    • Licensure & Certification Requirements :

  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) license OR
  • Certified Histology Technician (CHT) certification OR
  • Clinical Laboratory Technician certification from New York State Department of Education (NYS DOE).
