POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor is a key member of the adult bakery team at Cookie Cart and is primarily responsible for managingdaily bakery operations.
The Production Supervisor works in partnership with theBakeryManager and Youth Training Manager to support the supervisionand directionof youth employees during each bakery shift while they learn to deliver superior customer service, process cookie dough, prepare customer orders, and clean and disinfect the kitchen, workspaces, and building.
A successful candidate will be reliable, patient, flexible, and can multi-task at a fast pace. Day, evening, and weekend hours as demand requires.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop effective daily and weekly work plans based on weekly sales projections, staffing patterns, and previous operating results.
- Supervise and manage staff of Cookie Cart youth and young adult employees to promote teamwork, career readiness, and efficiency through daily feedback and coaching.
- Responsible for daily baking production following guidelines set by Bakery Manager with a focus on quality control.
- Oversee quality assurance of all bakery products, including accurate packaging and fulfillment of orders. Complete all bakery logs and documentation.
- Develop strong line of effective communication with sales department to produce high quality products, fulfill accurate orders, and deliver excellent customer service.
- Manage bakery inventory daily, weekly, and monthly to ensure proper product control.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by enforcing and following all health, safety, and sanitation regulations and procedures.
- Provide leadership, support and guidance to ensure that food quality standards, inventory levels, food safety and drivsanitation guidelines and customer service expectations are met and maintained.
- Ensure Bakery team members are properly trained; establish / maintain cross training practices to optimize production. Including bakery operation training for youth and adult staff.
- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions, both in-person and via phone.
- Support in delivering cookies if needed, ensuring that our products reach customers with quality and care.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills :
- Ability to successfully lead, coach, train, develop, and motivate a team to achieve production goals.
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively interact with both internal teams and external clients.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills to manage scheduling, inventory, and production processes.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Ability to make independent decisions regarding department needs and priorities, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Experience baking with a commercial oven and / or cookie or cake decorating is preferred.
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time and lift 50 pounds regularly.
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in food service management or commercial bakery is essential.
- Serv-Safe Food Handler Certification is a plus but not required.
- A degree or coursework in Culinary Arts is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered.
WORK SCHEDULE
This is a full-time position that requires availability Monday through Friday during regular business hours, as well as during out-of-school time (OST).
Your schedule will be adjusted based on the production demands and the youth bakery programming calendar. Additionally, weekend flexibility is required for organizational events and youth programming as needed.
