Pulmonary Division Pulmonary Medicine and Sleep Focus

National Jewish Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join a diverse, experienced, and progressive team of clinicians, educators, and researchers focused on advancing the care of patients with sleep and respiratory disorders.

Great hours, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm!

General Summary :

The APP in this role will provide patient care in the outpatient Sleep Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine clinic setting, regular health assessments, diagnosis, and management of common acute and chronic sleep and respiratory conditions.

Additionally, this APP will formulate plans that include treatment, psychosocial support, health education and counseling, and collaborate with other health professionals in assessing and managing health care problems.

Focus :

• Management of new and follow-up patients with sleep-disordered breathing and / or respiratory complaints.
• Management of CPAP and other Durable Medical Equipment.
• Assessment of supplemental oxygen needs and management of supplemental oxygen administration.
• Initial screening and ongoing monitoring of patients throughout their participation in sleep studies.
• Making clinical recommendations for medical management after completion of sleep studies.
• Patient counseling.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Provides quality care to patients, families, and significant others in appropriate setting.
• Performs and documents the physical exam, takes patient history, gathers data from the medical record, reviews outside medical records, makes contact with referring physician.
• Acts as a consultant to nursing staff, medical staff, and other support services.
• Monitors the progress of each patient and revises orders and care plans as needed.
• Writes progress notes and works collaboratively with the attending physician.
• Communicates promptly with patient, health care team, and referring health care providers.

Education, Certification and Licensure :

• Graduate of accredited NP or PA program.
• Must have current Certification by a national certifying body as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Current Colorado NP or PA license required.
• Healthcare provider level CPR / BLS required every 2 years.
• If assigned to high-risk areas (Cardiology, MIDC, PCU, Infusion Room) must maintain either ACLS or PALS as appropriate.

Work Experience and Qualifications :

• A minimum of two (2) years of recent and related experience as NP or PA preferred.
• CPAP and other non-invasive ventilatory support experience is a plus.
• Background in Pulmonary / Respiratory medicine preferred.

Salary Range : $105,000 - $135,000
