Servco has an immediate opening in our Salt Lake City office for a Boiler Service Technician. Be part of our Service Department that services hundreds of customers throughout the Intermountain West.

We are looking for skilled technicians that can troubleshoot and repair industrial and commercial Boilers and associated burner / control systems.

The qualified person should understand and be able to work with, Variable Speed Drives, Control Valves, Actuators, Loop Controllers, motors, and Industrial PLC's .

Experience with pumps and piping systems is also beneficial. We work on all brands of industrial and commercial boilers and burners, including CLEAVER BROOKS , Superior, Nebraska Boiler, Johnston, Hurst, Fulton, Powerflame, Todd, Coen, Industrial Combustion, Natcom, etc.

Responsibilities

• This is a field position that will work primarily at customer locations throughout the region.
• Technician will be asked to troubleshoot, service, repair, retrofit, and make recommendations as needed to return customer boilers, burners, and controls to fully function condition.
• Accountable for the completion of internal and external inspections of boilers, burners, and associated controls that determine function ability and expected service life.
• Repair and / or replace refractory, gaskets, parts, and miscellaneous controls.
• Perform hydrostatic testing of boilers, troubleshooting and repair of industrial burners.
• Evaluate basic boiler room systems (steam and hydronic), gather information and help solve problems.
• Respond to service calls and finish assigned jobs to completion.
• Work with limited supervision much of the time.
• Participate with "On Call" service rotation.

Qualifications

Ideal candidate should have 3+ years experience in troubleshooting and servicing boilers from light commercial to and industrial water-tube and Co-generation applications.

Hands on ability for combustion set up and analysis as well as troubleshooting skills to determine and adjust a full range of burners from .

5 to 30 Million BTU / HR input. Experience with Low Emission burners and related equipment is a plus but not a requirement.

• Must have great communication skills and the ability to work in a team atmosphere and also communicate effectively with customers and other office staff.
• Strong language skills as well as industry specific vocabulary is necessary.
• Basic mathematics, algebra, and formula knowledge are required.
• Must have very strong reasoning and problem solving skills.
• Must be detail oriented in completing work orders, all required forms, summaries, and checklist daily or as required in procedures manual.
• Completed High School or equivalent, two years of technical school, community college, or trade school. Position required 3-5 years' industry experience.
• Computer knowledge is a requirement.
• Ability to travel within the region on occasion, approx 10% of the time.
