Job summary

As a Cityworks Administrator, your day is centered around ensuring the Cityworks system runs smoothly while managing a major upgrade to Cityworks Respond. You will oversee the transition, ensure secure integration of the new version, troubleshoot issues, and address vulnerabilities from the older version. This involves testing the system, coordinating updates, and ensuring seamless operation after the upgrade.

Responsibilities

  • Upgrade-focused tasks including troubleshooting user access issues, managing logins, and configuring user permissions to ensure appropriate access. Create and modify custom reports, often in collaboration with the GIS team to ensure asset data is accurately tracked and displayed.
  • Support airfield inspections as part of FAA compliance, ensuring inspection data is captured accurately in Cityworks and aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide user support and training for new and existing users, troubleshoot issues, and maximize Cityworks features. Monitor and administer the system, perform routine maintenance, and make adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Balance technical system management with user support and the ongoing upgrade process, ensuring Cityworks remains secure, effective, and compliant with industry standards.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, work order / asset management concepts, and IT support.
  • Experience with Cityworks or other asset management systems is highly preferred.
  • Experience with system upgrades and platform migrations, including transitioning between versions or implementing new technologies (e.g., upgrading to Cityworks Respond).
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of work order and asset management systems
  • Proficiency in basic database management
  • Familiarity with integration with asset management systems
  • Knowledge of client-server technology, technical systems analysis, and software configuration
  • Experience with system administration, including managing user accounts, configuring permissions, and performing routine maintenance
  • Key Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Cityworks and components
  • Experience with reporting and creating / customizing reports for various stakeholders
  • Excellent communication to work with stakeholders, define system needs, provide training, and explain technical concepts
  • Project management to plan, implement, and monitor system upgrades or new features
  • Quality assurance for testing updates, checks, and documenting issues and solutions
  • Specialized Knowledge

  • Experience supporting FAA compliance and understanding regulatory requirements for airfield inspections is a plus
  • Knowledge of Cityworks Respond or similar newer versions of asset management systems
