About the Unit
West Bloomfield is an outpatient facility offering two Endoscopy Suites and an additional 3 ORs. Service lines consists of endoscopy, ophthalmology, podiatry, ENT, breasts, plastics, general surgery, and dental procedures.
We provide care for both pediatric and adult patient populations. West Bloomfield utilizes a teamwork approach, comprised of RNs, Surgical Technologists, and Surgery Support Staff to provide compassionate care for patients while supporting surgeons and anesthesia providers throughout the surgical procedure.
Patient safety is primary focus, along with providing patient -family centered care.
Scope of work
Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his / her safety.
Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required
- Current CNA certification preferred
