SUMMARYHennepin Healthcare is hiring a Staff Nurse RN (1.0 FTE : 5 days / week, 8 hour shifts) for our Cancer Center in downtown Minneapolis to work day shift.
This role will focus on Radiation Therapy.* This position is currently Monday-Friday day hours but may expand to include evenings and weekends as we grow.
A sign-on bonus is available for eligible external candidates (current employees and former employees returning to HHS within one year are ineligible).
RESPONSIBILITIESWithin the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Relationship-Based Care practice model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by : * Protecting, promoting wellness and optimizing health* Triaging patients by assessing severity of symptoms and referral to appropriate setting or level of care* Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response* Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others* Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care* Educating patient on their disease process* Assuring continuity of care* Educating patient and family in preventative care which promotes health and well beingQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Qualifications : * Graduation from an accredited school of nursing* Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota* One year of current oncology professional nursing (RN) experience* OCN certified or able to obtain certification within 2 years of hire date* Chemo administrative experiencePreferred Qualifications : * Certification in area of clinical specialty* Chemo / Biotherapy course* Inpatient Oncology experience* BSN Preferred.
Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
