Atlanta Dentist is looking for a dedicated and professional Dental Assistant to join our patient focused dental practice located in Midtown Atlanta.

This position requires a reliable and committed individual who can efficiently handle the demands required of a chairside assisting of a dental office.

We are a boutique fee for service office that sees one operative patient at a time, so customer service is a high priority.

We are looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and a responsible approach to their duties. This role is ideal for someone eager to deepen their dental assisting skills while contributing meaningfully to our patient-focused service approach.

This position is for 3-4 days.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Set up and sterilize instruments and equipment before each use.
• Prepare the work area for patient treatment by setting out instruments and materials needed.
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment. Service with a smile.
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling).
• Take dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Manage infection control - prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Provide patients with follow-up appointments and care information.
• Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining dental records, and billing.
• Monitor and maintain dental supplies and ensure proper storage to comply with health and safety regulations.
• Act as the patient advocate and liaison in the dental office to ensure patient comfort and communication.
• Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to the enhancement of patient services and office operations.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited dental assistant program preferred.
• Previous experience in a dental office preferred.
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation, helping ensure patients are treated with care and respect.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented in all aspects of dental operations and care.
• Demonstrable ability to follow instructions and learn new techniques as required.
• Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the entire office.
• Expanded duties is a plus.
