Afternoon Substitute in Early Childhood Centers
Early childhood centers provide the foundation for the youngest members of our community. Seattle early childhood centers are part of a groundbreaking initiative to train new teachers.
Join us in supporting the community through this new, weekly paid volunteer opportunity.
Schools are seeking classroom support from exceptional people who are open to learning about early childhood on Mondays-Thursdays 12 : 30-3 : 30 If you are really ambitious you can stay for the whole afternoon!
Come play, learn, connect and be a part of the wonderful local early childhood Jewish landscape!
Responsibilities :
- Connect with, care for, and support the learning of young children in a Jewish classroom.
- Follow guidance from a trusted head-teacher.
- Support young children through activities, transitions and day-to-day classroom life.
- Bring your passions and positivity to an early childhood environment.
- Be an advocate for the early childhood center in your community.
- Ensure school policies are met and maintained in the classroom.
Qualifications :
- Certified to sub in a licensed preschool / daycare
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to learn about, or previous knowledge of, child development.
- Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively.
- Must pass background check and be fingerprinted through DFPS
- Weekly commitment for 8 weeks with possibility of extending.
