Johnson & Johnson is hiring for a Sr Product Manager, Portfolio Strategy Shockwave Medical to join our team. The ideal candidate will be located in Santa Clara, CA but will consider remote candidates willing to travel 50%.

Fueled by innovation at the intersection of biology and technology, we're developing the next generation of smarter, less invasive, more personalized treatments. Ready to join a team that's pioneering the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Our Shockwave Medical portfolio aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.

We are looking for a high-performing individual to join the marketing team to lead new product development projects and explore novel applications of our core technology focused on capital system. This individual will play a key role engaging with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs); exploring unmet needs and market opportunities; and collaborating with R&D, quality, regulatory, marketing, sales, clinical, operations, manufacturing, and sales teams. Additionally, this role will work closely with the commercial organization to roll out strategic programs. This is a visible role that will be vital to the company's success.

Responsibilities :

  • Partner with Associate Director to guide the portfolio strategy for core and novel technology new product development programs.
  • Champion product development activities across multiple internal groups by collaborating with and influencing R&D, regulatory, clinical, quality, operations, sales, etc.
  • Partner with R&D, clinical, and commercial to understand the potential applications for our core technology.
  • Lead market research to understand behaviors, identify opportunities and unmet needs, and value market opportunities.
  • Assess the competitive and clinical environment to determine appropriate development priorities for the organization.
  • Establish relationships with key opinion leaders in the field.
  • Lead the planning, acquisition, and analysis of feedback from key opinion leaders, current and potential customers, through Advisory Boards, one on one conversations, third party market research, internal stakeholders to inform product development and live-case coverage.
  • Communicate customer input to the technical development team and broader cross-functional leadership team.
  • Take a leadership role on project teams and work closely with the project manager to drive accountability and team achievement of goals and milestones.
  • Perform financial modeling / forecasting for new product opportunities.
  • Partner with development team to evaluate new products in animal and cadaver labs.
  • Explore opportunities to expand clinical evidence to align with strategic publication initiatives.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA strongly desired.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional product management, clinical, sales, engineering or equivalent experience, preferably with capital system background.
  • Proven ability to become a subject matter expert for a variety of new clinical applications, community trends and more specifically, the segments targeted by assigned products.
  • Ability to develop relationships with key opinion leaders and to modify strategies and tactics when necessary, based on voice of customer and emerging trends.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with ability to influence, gain the respect / buy-in from stakeholders and all levels of management across Shockwave Medical.
  • Cross-functional team leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate and work with others in a dynamic, matrix environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as individual contributor or as part of team, while managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing requirements.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25-35% (Global & U.S.).
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% if remote.

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is : $100,000 - $172,000 (US) / $114,000 - $197,000 (Bay Area)
