job_description.job_card.job_descriptionInitial patient intake (vitals, medical histories and reason for visits, etc.) Prepare patients for examination Generate and document encounter notes Generate orders per MD requests Assists in preparation of additional notes including, but not limited to : Procedure notes Treatment summaries Patient-requested documents – disability forms, excuse letters, etc. Authorization / appeals letters Participate in educating / counseling patients on logistics of their radiotherapy course Generate tasks and reminder for MD (signing orders, prescriptions, etc.) Manage QCL tasks Help manage clinic schedule Manage certain encounter note / document templates Contact patients per MD instructions, including but not limited to Brief pre or post-treatment check-ups Answer / respond to patient questions Triage staff / MD related issues Triage referring physician calls Coordinate procedure schedules with urologist, surgery center and provider services Track brachytherapy patients, pre-op results and prepare Brachytherapy packet / brachytherapy order forms / H&P Assist in special procedures (SpaceOAR, prostate volume studies) including preparing equipment and applicators Help maintain clinic / office supplies and inventory Assist front office / medical assistants as needed Create and update SOPs related to job duties and responsibilities Participate in departmental meetings Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Medical terminology Excellent verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with EHR platforms (Epic, Mosaiq) preferred Effective in team building and working in a team environment Ability to respect and protect confidential information Strong computer skills Ability to function independently and deal with multiple, simultaneous projects Ability to recognize personal strengths and weaknesses and develop goals for professional growth and achievement Ability to demonstrate a commitment to quality and excellence California Vocational Nurse Certification and License CPR / BLS Certified Minimum three years of clinical experience in a Medical Office setting preferred Minimum one year of clinical experience in Radiation Oncology setting preferred Prolonged periods sitting at a desk or working on a computer. Prolonged periods of standing and bending. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Employees actual pay rate will depend on a host of factors including, without limitation, job location, specialty, skillset, education, and experience. The pay scale / ranges shown are representative of the pay rates for the job title reflected above, but an employees actual pay rate will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

The LVN is an integral part of the clinical team at the Department of Radiation Oncology at BASS Medical Group’s Comprehensive Cancer Center in Walnut Creek. The LVN will perform clinical duties related to radiation oncology care in an outpatient setting and assist in some administrative duties. This individual works closely with the radiation therapists, front desk personnel, office manager and radiation oncologists.
- Prepare for and assist in patient encounters (consults / follow-ups / OTV / telehealth visits, etc.), including but not limited to :
Chart-prep
End of treatment instructions
Notify patient of normal lab results
