DESCRIPTION

Under general direction from the Director of Clinical Services, the Lifesharing Clinical Supervisor provides oversight of programs and staff supervision for the organ clinical departments within Lifesharing. Oversight includes directing daily operations of all services related to organ donor authorization, physiologic management, organ allocation, surgical recovery and preservation, family support, and follow up. Ensures adequate staffing and on call response for potential donors, fly-outs and other activity. Ensures that all referral response metrics are met and that all available organs are allocated and recovered for transplant.

Acts as clinical expert regarding organ donor management. Assists the Director of Clinical Services in assuring clinical staff are competent through adequate initial and ongoing training. Additional responsibilities include a significant amount of on call responsibility to direct clinical staff via phone and onsite to ensure 24 / 7 / 365 clinical administrative coverage of the donor process. Ensures through the application of a general knowledge of regulatory policies and procedures affecting organ donation, that Lifesharing follows policy. Is responsible for ensuring Lifesharing meets benchmarks for donation rates and transplantation rates through effective monitoring, data assessment and change management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of California.
• Five (5+) or more years of relevant experience as an organ procurement coordinator.
• Proven leadership skills such as functioning as a charge nurse or organ AOC.
• Demonstrated skills with project completion and adherence to deadlines.
• Experience and proven success in skills to effectively supervise clinicians and to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with a clinic(s) / center(s).
• Strong knowledge of practice operations.

• In depth knowledge of patient care clinical standards and care delivery, systems, external regulations, and internal policies.
• Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaborations and problem solving with all levels of management, staff, consultants, and outside agencies.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, and to convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management systems used in clinic / center patient care.

Annual Full Pay Range : $132,600 - $259,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent : $63.51 - $124.43
