Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Analyst
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Analyst to work on our Commercial Partnerships & Tech Transitions team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located in Idaho Falls with every other Friday off.
You will provide professional support to others at INL that are engaged in business intelligence, asset management, accomplishing INL's technology transfer Mission. This is a 2-year project hire position.
Responsibilities Include :
- Champion INL innovation by encouraging creativity, helping researchers capture ideas, strengthening a culture of innovation, and supporting activities such as business model canvas training, implementation of innovation methodologies, and facilitation of ideation sessions.
- Manage INL's innovation intake processes, including coordinating intellectual property committees chaired by Commercialization Managers, recording decisions, and tracking innovation performance.
- Perform innovation assessments and reviews, including technology, market, and business landscapes, using tools such as PatSnap, FirstIgnite, Innography, USPTO, Frost & Sullivan, and AI-based platforms.
- Collaborate with Technology Deployment (TD) Commercialization Managers, INL management, and DOE Office of Technology Transitions Programs to establish and grow strategic relationships with external partners.
- Partner with TD specialists to identify potential licensees, develop technology maturation partnerships, and secure maturation funding to advance technologies toward market readiness.
- Support Commercialization Managers in the development and execution of licensing agreements, from negotiation through implementation, including preparation of marketing materials.
- Manage INL's intellectual property processes, including invention disclosures, technology maturation programs, and intellectual property valuation.
- Provide comprehensive analysis to support intellectual asset management, market evaluations, and commercialization strategies.
- Contribute to performance metrics by ensuring timely review and processing of invention disclosures, intellectual property evaluations, and licensing opportunities.

Qualifications :
Level 1 : Bachelor's and 0 years of experience.Level 2 : Bachelor's and 2 years of experience. Master's and 0 years of experience. PhD and 0 years' experience.Related experience may include prior work and comprehension skills in science and technology, analyzing markets / business opportunities, and / or innovation / intellectual property management.Ideally, the incumbent of this role will have demonstrated ability to integrate AI into workflows to enhance productivity.This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.Job Information :
The pay range for this position is : Level 1 ($56,196 - $109,644) / Level 2 ($65,064 - $133,416). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office environment. The job requires hand / finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires the operation of office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 35 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with people is required.
