We are seeking a dynamic and results driven VP of Sales to lead and manage the sales operations and team. This individual will be responsible for driving revenue growth, overseeing the product roadmap positioning strategy, creating and implementing long range sales strategies, developing strategic partnerships, and managing both internal and external sales teams.
The VP of Sales will work closely with cross functional teams, including marketing, R&D, and executive leadership, to ensure alignment between sales strategies and overall business objectives.
Based in Boulder / Denver area but may consider hybrid
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth across all product lines and all sales channels within the portfolio.
- Oversee the commercialization of new products in the pipeline, ensuring timely and effective market entry.
- Collaborate with the executive team to set long range sales goals that align with the companys strategic growth objectives.
- Establish and manage a scalable sales process, ensuring consistency and best practices are maintained across the organization.
- Partner with R&D teams to ensure alignment between product pipeline and market demands.
Sales Team Leadership
- Lead and inspire a high performing internal sales team, including account executives, sales managers, and inside customer sales.
- Develop and manage external partnerships with sales agents, co-man partners, and international distributors to expand market reach.
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance management to sales team members, ensuring they are equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to succeed.
- Foster a culture of accountability by establishing clear KPIs, performance metrics, and regular reviews for both internal and external sales teams.
Goal Setting & Performance Management
- Own HubSpot CRM as the primary system for tracking all sales activity and performance.
- Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts using HubSpot and other data sources, ensuring transparency with leadership.
- Utilize HubSpot to generate reports on sales performance, pipeline management, and team activities, enabling data-driven decisions at all levels.
- Set and manage sales targets, quotas, and KPIs at both team and individual levels, ensuring they are challenging yet achievable.
- Monitor sales performance metrics, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Report regularly to the executive team on sales performance, forecasting, and market feedback.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with the operations team to ensure demand planning, inventory management, and supply chain considerations are aligned with sales forecasts.
- Drive the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to ensure accurate forecasting and alignment between supply and demand.
- Collaborate closely with marketing to ensure product positioning and messaging align with sales strategies.
- Partner with R&D teams to provide market feedback and help guide product roadmaps.
- Work with finance on budgeting, sales forecasting, and pricing strategies.
Customer & Market Insights
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and industry influencers to stay ahead of market trends and opportunities.
- Utilize market intelligence and customer feedback to identify new opportunities forgrowth and ensure remains competitive in the marketplace.
Strategic Partnership Development
- Identify, negotiate, and establish strategic partnerships that align with the companys goals and enhance our offerings.
- Collaborate with partners to create joint go-to-market strategies that drive revenue growth.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of sales leadership experience, preferably in B2B functional, science-based ingredients.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies that drive revenue growth.
- Hands-on experience with CRM, including advanced knowledge of pipeline management, reporting, and forecasting.
- Strong background in managing sales teams, both internally and through external partnerships.
- Experience working in product focused environments, with knowledge of how to commercialize new products in competitive markets.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and lead high performing teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to track and measure success through KPIs and sales metrics.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
