POSITION SUMMARY
As a Senior Financial Analyst with Umoja Biopharma, you will play an integral role in the financial planning and analysis process, providing key insights and recommendations that will drive strategic decision-making within the organization.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and financial reporting activities.
This role offers an opportunity to work on complex projects, collaborate with team members across departments, and contribute to the company's overall success.
This role will also help bridge the gap between finance and science, ensuring the accuracy of information derived from our financial system and developing process improvement opportunities within Finance / Accounting.
Success in this role will require effective communication skills, innovative thinking, and a keen attention to detail.
This role also has regular interaction with senior executives, various business units, and multiple stakeholders across Umoja and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Specific responsibilities include :
- Collaborate with various departments to develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. Review historical data and industry trends to provide accurate financial projections.
- Develop and maintain reporting on key operational and financial metrics. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Support a regular review cadence with management to discuss financial performance and variance to plan and forecast projections.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights into their impact on the company's financial performance.
Identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, to identify key performance drivers and areas for improvement.
Present findings to manager and / or senior management.
- Assist in regular monthly and quarterly closing processes to ensure accurate reporting of financials.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and modeling to support strategic decision-making and special projects.
- Maintain and enhance financial models and databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
The successful candidate will have :
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in financial planning, accounting, or a related field
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft suite, specifically Excel data manipulation (pivot tables and charting tools)
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with partners across functions
- Strong inquisitive thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage time appropriately and meet deadlines
- Strong work ethic, high level of personal integrity, and accountability
Preferred Qualifications :
- Master's degree in business administration preferred
- Start-up experience is preferred
- Biotech experience is preferred
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to work onsite 2 days a week at Seattle, WA site
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
Salary Range : $97,000 - $117,500
