- We areseeking a charismatic and dynamic engineer to join our technicalteam at the Niagara Falls Ceramics Plant!
- Theengineer provides engineering and consulting support to maintainand develop products or processes and manages technical informationflow for the same.
Primary accountability is to support bothcommercial and manufacturing in the Armor product line. Thisincludes active contact with the customer regarding productrequirements and translation of these requirements into productdefinition.
Takes into account effective use of materials andresources and recommends changes to product specifications asnecessary.
The engineer will provide technical service support tothe sales organization to solve customer needs and product orprocesses problems for the purpose of maintaining and increasingsales.
The engineer works within an engineeringgroup that provides technical support and development throughoutthe business organization.
The engineer is expected to take advicefrom and give advice to the senior technical and productionmanagers as well as function as technical expert for associateswithin operations as well as the commercial team.
The engineer willserve as the technical team leader for the specified productline.
Product Applications may be found inmultiple arenas some of which are untouched and in their infancydeveloping and utilizing Armor products.
The incumbent mustcontinue to develop current awareness of innovations customerprocessing systems and future expansion plans in diverse industriesin order to assist the commercial team in responding to increasingsales opportunities.
- The incumbent manages keyArmor programs to successful completion as the direct technicalinterface between the commercial team and internal operations(Manufacturing R&D Customer Service) and acts as theprimary interface / liaison between Engineering Customer ServiceR&D Operations and Commercial teams for Armorproducts.
- This role will require frequentvisits to customers as well as hosting visits in support of theArmor commercial team. The most successful candidate will have astrong interest in customer relations and sales.

Education :
Bachelors Degree in Ceramic or MaterialsEngineering is required.
Experience :
- 1 years ofexperience in a manufacturing setting isrequired.
- 3 years of experience in ceramicmanufacturing is preferred.

The candidatewill generally perform the followingduties :
Identifycustomer needs and in close cooperation commercial team adaptexisting products and services to meet those needs within theframework of our capabilities;
understand the current applicationsand products and can serve as the expert and the reference in theapplication for our customers.
Work with the process engineersacross all plant departments and the commercial team in troubleshooting customer issues.
Show continuousimprovement in product or process development by improvingmanufacturing processes : developing ways to reduce scrap and reworkincrease productivity / efficiency and decrease operating costs.
Initiate and maintain Engineering Change Notices (ECN) to documentand control changes in specifications processes andprocedures.
- Act as a technical support to themanufacturing floor for the Armor product line and work to solveassigned engineering problems including checking the work of otherswithin relevant departments.
- Manage assignedprojects engineering trials and prototype builds including projectscheduling performance implementation and writing reports incoordination with requested completiondates.
- Participate in all Armor customer callsand visits alongside commercial team and attend trade shows andvisit customers as required.
