SCHEDULE : Full Time

TRAVEL REQUIRED : 0% - 25%

COMPENSATION : $87,428.00 to $169,806.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Farm Credit Mid-America / Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

About Our Opportunity

Our Public Policy and Industry Analyst delivers thought-leadership through research, written analysis, reports, collaboration projects, and presentations on major issues impacting agriculture and rural communities within Farm Credit Mid-America's chartered footprint.

This role will directly support the Association's mission, customers, and strategic business objectives by identifying and understanding the major public policy, financial, and industry issues and trends, and developing unique analysis and perspectives on behalf of Farm Credit Mid-America.

How You Will Spend Your Time

  • Create data-driven and empirical written insights in support of Farm Credit Mid-America's strategic objectives.
  • Partner with internal experts to identify policy and industry trends, challenges, and opportunities for the organization in support of our customers and the communities we serve.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with external stakeholders, key thought leaders, research organizations, and others to create credible insights aligned with Farm Credit Mid-America's business objectives.
  • Maintain an understanding of policy, financial, and industry trends related to the agriculture and rural communities within Farm Credit Mid-America's chartered footprint.
  • Present to customers, stakeholders, and team members to broaden understanding of, and connection to, relevant issues and industry trends.

Minimum Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in agriculture, agriculture economics, business, finance, public policy, political science, statistics or related discipline.

Minimum of four (4) years of experience working in agriculture, public policy, finance, statistics, ag journalism, or related field.

Experience analyzing and communicating about industry trends, required. Must have demonstrated experience writing clearly and concisely for a broad audience about complex topics.

Mental & Physical Requirements

While engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds.

Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage.

Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance.
