University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), the Artificial Organs Lab in the Department of Cardiac Surgery is recruiting a CONTRACTUAL Program Coordinator to join their dynamic laboratory team.
Our Cardiac Surgical faculty are engaged in nearly thirty translational and clinical research awards to investigate the causes of heart disease and find new ways to treat it.
The selected candidate will support the department's mission and vision.

PRIMARY DUTIES :
- Coordinate activities and functions of a designated program (project #) to ensure that goals and objectives for specified program is accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications.
- Coordinate day-to-day activities of the program with inter-related activities of other programs, departments, or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications.
- Manage data collection, keep records of program activities : progress, status, and outcomes, and prepare reports for management.
- Recruit program participants, members and volunteers utilizing most appropriate promotional or marketing methods, such as individual letters, brochures, or presentations.
- Assists in the preparation of proposals for funding and / or funding continuation from outside sponsors.
- Interact and maintain liaison with students, faculty, staff and outside / community agencies in facilitating program objectives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with community members and partners in order to grow the programming.
- Schedule, market, and promote events of the program by independently developing promotional marketing materials and event plans.
- May coordinate, monitor or supervise the activities of work study students, volunteers, and contractual employees.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Bachelor's degree.
Experience : One (1) year of administrative or program coordination experience.
Supervisory Experience : N / A
Certification / Licensure : N / A
Other : Related experience to program may be substituted for education. Ability to prepare financial statements and budgets.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES :
Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology / systems.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently.

Based on the duties of this position, selected candidates are not eligible to participate in the Bargaining Unit (Union).
Salary Range : $53,000 - $62,000 per year (Commensurate with education and experience)
