CoreCivic is eager to welcome a skilled Correctional Mental Health Therapist to our esteemed team. We are dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of offenders while setting the standard for mental health care in corrections.

As a valued member of our mental health team, you will play a crucial role in planning and providing essential non-medical clinical mental health services within our facility. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the rehabilitation and well-being of our inmates.

In this role, your responsibilities will include :

  • Conducting comprehensive mental health screenings and assessments through thorough record reviews and direct clinical interviews with inmates.
  • Delivering tailored treatment by developing, implementing, and adjusting individual treatment plans based on each inmate's unique needs and levels of functioning.
  • Documenting all treatment and evaluation activities meticulously in the health care record for each individual you serve.
  • Ensuring the highest level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information and materials at all times.
  • Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of psychological counseling theories and techniques through the therapeutic interventions and activities utilized with individuals on your caseload.
  • Providing effective mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions to support the diverse needs of inmates.

Qualifications :

  • A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related clinical discipline.
  • At least five (5) years of clinical experience, including a minimum of two (2) years in a similar role.
  • Appropriate certification or licensure in the state of practice, such as LPC, LCSW, or LMFT.
  • A valid driver's license is preferred unless mandated by contract or applicable law.
  • Minimum age requirement : Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
