Salary Range : $52.6100 - $80.8600 / hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Applications Analyst is responsible for configuring, testing, implementing and supporting the clinical, financial, administrative and other healthcare information systems used for the delivery of patient care and other supporting functions of the organization.
Oversees practices and processes to ensure integrity, safety and availability of all data and applications as part of the organization’s systems.
Will also be responsible for planning and system development, project management, network application administration. Key functions include :
- Collaborates with key stakeholders, end users and other members of the business teams to optimize system configuration, function and access.
- Evaluates problem tickets and service requests, customer requests for system changes, data retrieval requests, system performance problems and optimization opportunities, and participate in the timely resolution of these activities.
- Independently resolves the most complex, multi-function application errors and other system issues
- Primary responsibility for the build and maintenance of various system dictionaries, profiles, tables and other configuration points.
- Identifies system enhancement requests and works with the team to communicate them to the vendor as applicable
- Tests the system, including any configurations, customizations and new releases, prior to production implementation. Works with end-users to assist with the design and testing of system reports and communicate changes to end users and other staff as applicable
- Advanced understanding of how assigned application impacts other systems and works with integration teams to resolve complex data integration issues.
- Leads or facilitates system design, validation or remediation sessions.
- Leads large projects and functions as a subject matter expert on complex, cross-functional projects
IT Department EPIC
The EPIC Application Analyst is the primary support contacts for each Epic application. Responsible for coordinating all issues that arise during the project for their application areas and must be very knowledgeable about the organization's policies, procedures, and business operations.
Education and Experience
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience with the application, module or equivalent system as assigned.
- Expert knowledge of the assigned application in at least one functional area. Ability to mentor junior application analysts
- Strong analytical skills
Preferred :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Two (2) or more years’ experience with the application, module or equivalent system as assigned.
- Two (2) or more years’ experience working in a Health Care Application Services department, preferably within an acute care environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project
IT Department EPIC only
- EPIC Applications Analysts are required to have specific EPIC Module knowledge in the EPIC Application area they are assigned to.
- Experience with data query tools such as SQL
Payroll Department only
- Experience with Kronos Software applications required
- License Required
- Current CA driver’s license for local travel
Certifications Required
IT Department EPIC only
- Epic training and certification in the assigned application area is required.
- Certification includes completing application certification projects and tests.
Certifications Preferred
IT Department EPIC only
- Other certification with the application(s) within their area of responsibility and support
