The Role :

The Prep Cook is responsible for the preparation and delivery of food prior to all events. The Prep Cook will report to the Chef and follow production schedules and other duties as assigned.

Collectively, our leadership has over years of experience in sales and sponsorship, analytics and valuation, hospitality and operations. Responsibilities :

  • Follows Chef’s assignments for opening and closing kitchen procedures and food preparation.
  • Prepares food items by complying with portion size, quality standards, departmental rules, policies and procedures.
  • Follows build sheets to ensure that food items are prepared and served in accordance with the culinary visions of Legends.
  • Ensures that proper food temperatures are maintained.
  • Responsible for safety standards, neatness and sanitation of work areas.
  • Maintains cleanliness of kitchen including shelves, walls, floors and drains.
  • Participates as a team player with specific responsibilities as related to preparation, excellent service and delivery of product.
  • Maintains proper sanitation for all dining and cooking utensils and cookware.
  • Ensures that all kitchen equipment is in proper operating condition and is cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Handles and cleans kitchen equipment carefully and safely to prevent damage or injury.
  • Shows flexibility by rotating to other service locations when necessary.
  • Adheres to company guidelines for appearance and uniform standards.

Qualifications :

  • Professional training through a culinary education or experience working in a fast-paced high-volume dining restaurant / catering facility preferred
  • Must be at least years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to read, speak and write English in order to communicate with staff and guests
  • Ability to work all venue events and maintain a flexible schedule to meet service demand levels, including extended hours, days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in an open aired environment during all climate conditions
  • Must be punctual and dependable
  • Must maintain personal hygiene and a well-groomed appearance in accordance with company and venue standards
  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including constant standing, reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing - pounds, occasionally pounds
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette preferred
  • Ability to effectively listen and take direction from management
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
  • Must meet state and local health requirements for food handlers

Licenses & Certifications :

Preferred SERVSafe and City of Philadelphia Food Safety Personnel Certificate

Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.
