Job Description

We are looking for a data scientist to support evidence generation on Philips' Image Guided Therapy (IGT) devices and therapies from large-scale biomedical datasets, namely healthcare claims and hospital administrative data.

Your Challenge :

This role will work closely with our senior data scientist and data engineer as well as members of cross-functional teams such as : data / solutions architecture, clinical affairs, business development, research & development, biostats, and health economics and outcomes research.

This high-impact role will make direct contributions to highly visible projects such as new product introductions, obtaining market access for a specific product, continuous post-market surveillance, and pilots of emerging engineering technologies that are candidates for integration into current workflows.

Your role :

  • Work on improving our current codebases to 1) generate evidence at scale from these data and 2) build tools making these data more accessible to less skilled data consumers or specialist teams.
  • Conduct proof of concept evaluations of new data science tools (e.g. generative AI) for integration into current workflows.
  • Cross-functional teamwork with clinical and business subject matter experts to translate their problems and business needs into executable analyses.

You're the right fit if :

  • Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or PhD.
  • 2+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results).
  • Fluent with Python and SQL programming or intermediate with a strong drive to improve.
  • Experience with software engineering skills and best practices : design, development, testing, version control, pull requests, code review, etc.
  • Experience in conducting observational, retrospective research preferably on healthcare claims, electronic health records, or hospital administrative datasets.
  • Experience developing machine learning / AI algorithms.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future.
  • Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position.
