We have an immediate long-term opportunity with one of our prime clients for a position of Senior Oracle Exadata / OCI Architect to work on Remote basis.
Pay Rate : - $70 / hr - $75 / hr W2

Senior Oracle Exadata / OCI Architect
- Deep knowledge of Oracle database technologies, with a focus on Exadata
- 5+ years of experience engineering, architecting, or supporting Oracle IaaS / PaaS solutions
- Expertise in implementing migration strategies, defining optimal architectures, and ensuring secure deployments and configurations
- Understanding of migration tools like Oracle Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM)
- Familiarity with cloud migration best practices
- Experience with automated migration techniques to reduce manual effort and conversion time
- Multiple Oracle large-scale data migration projects, specifically moving Oracle Exadata from on-premises to OCI
- Experience migrations involving large data volumes (e.g. 100TB databases)
Job Responsibilities
This role will be key member of the migration team, within the senior role, he will represent client in various activity mentioned below and will be involved in knowing the day to day activities, what's being built out by implementation partners and play a key voice in translating client's policies and controls in the Control office with the implement partners.
Migration Planning
- Assess existing on-premises application, database environments, Work with the application teams to understand the challenges, the stored procedures, the different jobs and processes that may need to change, and possibly recoded or somehow change, because now the database layer is somewhat being decoupled, it won't be on the same subnet and the same rack and the same database.
- Participate in migration strategies tailored to specific business needs, The complexity will come and decoupling the applications and decades long of how they connected to their database and how it was just sitting right next to them and their subnet and really separating out that data layer.
- Participate in planning sessions for example minimal downtime during migration, Evaluate and mitigate potential risks
- Conduct workshop to Identify application dependencies and third-party integrations, ensuring all components are compatible with OCI services
Implementation
- Validate configurations of OCI environments for Exadata Database Service
- Validate networking, security, and storage components and validate architecture in OCI
- Experience with database migrations using tools like ZDM
- Validate Configurations of connectivity between on-premises and OCI (e.g. VPN, Fast Connect)
Performance Optimization
- Validate database configurations for optimal performance on Exadata
- Leverage Exadata's unique features for workload optimization
- Implement best practices for cloud-based database management
- Establishing performance benchmarks
- Configuring for optimal performance in cloud environment
- Addressing any performance bottlenecks
Security and Compliance
- Gathering security requirements and communicating requirements and policies and controls in the Security Office, how it relates to the technical aspects and configurations in OCI and ensuring you know it's going to be a lot of workshops.
- Address compliance requirements in the cloud environment for example proper access controls and encryption
Cost Optimization
- Design cost-effective solutions using OCI's flexible pricing models
- Implement resource management strategies to control cloud costs
- Understanding OCI pricing model and potential hidden costs
- Managing licenses and leveraging existing investments
Operations readiness
- Conducting workshops for staff on OCI services and Exadata in OCI
- Adapting operational processes for cloud management
- Managing organizational changes and user adoption
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders throughout migration
