Under general direction of surgical nurse, performs fairly complex surgical technician duties utilizing specialized knowledge acquired through formal training.
This position is assigned surgical technician support to several specialty surgical areas within UC San Diego Health. Duties also include verification of specialty equipment and inventory, contacting surgeons concerning equipment, contacting supply companies and their vendors about malfunctioning or broken equipment, and providing continuing education in-service to staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior Surgical Technician experience working in an inpatient main operating room.
- Completion of surgical training from an accredited institution or specialized program.
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within (6) six months of hire date.
- Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation used in various surgical procedures.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range : $84,460 - $84,460 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent : $40.45 - $40.45
