POSITION / TITLE : Dietitian Part-time (Residential Care Facility)

WHO IS OUR IDEAL DIETITIAN
We are looking for an experienced, lively, and compassionate Dietitian who will be able to provide our residents a comprehensive nutritional care program that will enrich the quality of their lives in our community, promote engagement, ongoing education, maintenance and improvement of their physical health, and abilities everyday under the direction of our Executive Director.
You will thrive in this role if you are a leader, a team-player, able to communicate well with the direct care staff, management and of course senior residents that we serve in our community.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DIETTIAN
The responsibilities of the Dietitian include, but are not limited to :
- Performs assessment of residents to determine those at nutritional risk. Provides quality nutritional care through utilization of nutrition plans, facilitate appropriate meal patterns, monitor nutritional intake, initiate appropriate interventions, and provide nutritional education.
- Responsible for the comprehensive initial nutritional assessment and ongoing reassessment of the resident's nutritional condition and stability and determination of nutritional diagnosis.
Responsible for the nutritional evaluation of the resident's response to effectiveness of the implementation of the plan of care.
- Standardize and establish a special dietary menu cycle for diabetic and bariatric residents.
- Develop and administer food service education to residents and their families.
- Implements nutritional care plan for residents.
- Ensure the availability of food and supplies as needed.
- Make recommendations for resident care plan changes.
- Participate in service plan meetings as needed.
- Plan and conduct in-service training for staff.
- Evaluate and report results of resident’s nutrition to Executive Director in a timely manner.
- Monitor monthly weight of each resident.
- Communicate with other staff including direct caregiver staff, cook, any health services related needs of each resident as needed.
- The above duties are not meant to restrict initiative, but rather to define minimum activities. These duties may be altered to suit the needs of the Company.
YOUR SCHEDULE
This position is a Part-time, hourly / non-exempt position, with flexible hours (required 24 hours / week). Normal business hours from 9 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM with the understanding that hours may vary dependent upon workload, Management, and resident needs.
Must be able to be on-call, including during inclement weather, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The position requires a hands-on professional and have the following qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Food & Nutrition or Dietetics (required);
- Minimum of 1 year nutrition experience.
- Registered Dietitian License in Oregon and / or Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Strong computer skills are needed for use of our electronic charting and medical records system. Working knowledge of basic office technology and software (MS Office : Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent writing and communication skills to work effectively with subordinates, residents, managers, and others;
- Should have excellent multitasking and data analysis skills; Ability to work in a team-oriented environment is required;
- Must pass mandatory background check.
