Events Manager
The Events Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the planning and executing of a diverse range of events for The San Francisco Standard, a rapidly growing digital media publisher.

Responsibilities
- Oversee a diverse range of public events in-person and virtual including panel discussions, exhibitions, parties, sponsored series and conferences
- Proactively develop event ideas in collaboration with colleagues across the company
- Direct all aspects of event planning, including maintenance of events calendars, timelines, and checklists; outreach to event participants, management of vendors;
ensuring timely budgeting; preparation and distribution of event materials; effective communication with event teams and other stakeholders
- Serve on-site as a point of contact for stakeholders, providing logistical support, troubleshooting, and ensuring a smooth event execution
- Collaborate with marketing and social teams to develop promotional strategies and materials for events, utilizing various channels (social media, email, etc.)
- Cultivate partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance event visibility and reach
- Address any issues or emergencies that may arise during events, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills
- Assist with other projects and events as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus 3+ years of hands-on experience in planning and producing in-person and virtual events
- Previous production experience involving event set-up, audio, and video strongly preferred
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines
- Superior organizational and people skills to work collaboratively and manage internal and external relationships
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative
- Work effectively under pressure and / or stringent schedule and produce accurate results for multiple projects in a fast-paced setting
- Computer skills including proficiency in event management software and marketing tools such as Canva
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours as required by event schedules
This is an in-person role based in San Francisco, with regular commitments during evenings or weekends. We offer a very competitive compensation package and benefits.
The pay range for this role is $75,000 to $110,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate.
