Overview
The Director of the All-women division of the Occupational Therapy Program is responsible for the management, administration, and productivity of courses and fieldwork (FW) of the All-women division, as well as teaching assigned reduced course load, scholarship, and service, to the University, profession, and community
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Director include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Administration / management : Supervise and mentor professional development of faculty and staffHire adjunct faculty with demonstrated expertise in content to teachManage the budget, including overseeing the budgeting and purchasing processOversee student recruitment and admission proceduresOversee student registration, deregistration, academic standing, and graduationContribute to OT program evaluation, ACOTE accreditation, and other for regulating bodies and Touro UniversityProvide coverage for the academic fieldwork coordinator when not available
- TeachingTeach reduced credit load of 6 credits per academic yearProvide assigned number of lecture, laboratory, and examination hours for course(s)Provide the Occupational Therapy office with a list of required texts, supplies, and equipment needed for coursework (a minimum of six weeks prior to the semester beginning)Prepare course descriptions, according to department formatSubmit grades in compliance with policies and procedures established by the UniversitySchedule office hours on a weekly basisUtilize the learning management system (ie : Canvas) in accordance with the policies for use of technology in the School of Health Sciences.
- Scholarship and Service Activities : Participate in scholarly activities such as, research projects, publications, presentations, grant writing, development of innovative teaching and / or initiatives, & mentorship of student research (related to area of expertise)Maintain professionally related competence according to the guidelines and standards of professional accrediting bodies, and / or professional credentialing bodies and licensing entitiesParticipates in leadership and / or service to the community and University
Qualifications
Education / Experience
- Doctorate Degree required.
- Initial certification as an Occupational Therapist
- Professional license from New York State Department of Education Office or Professional Licensing
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of occupational therapy including experience in a full-time academic appointment with supervisory and teaching responsibilities at the post-baccalaureate level
- Earned Doctorate in Occupational Therapy or a related discipline awarded by an institution that holds a regional accreditation recognized by the .

- Travel between campuses periodically

Maximum Salary
USD $120,000.00 / Yr.
Minimum Salary
USD $96,000.00 / Yr.
