This opportunity is part time and offers full benefits and a convenient night shift. Under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, the cook performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties.
The cook will prepare appropriate food items for hospital patients, staff, and visitors according to recipes.
Job Duties / Responsibilities :
- Determines types and quantities of all foods to be prepared by reviewing planned menus and printed tallies.
- Determines foods / supplies / equipment that are low in supply and uses list to communicate to Director / Supervisor. Also assists in putting foods / supplies away appropriately in designated storage area after delivery.
- Ensures meals are ready at specified times and consults with director / supervisor regarding use of leftover food.
- Prepares all foods according to approved recipes and to suitable appearance standards while using garnishes when appropriate.

Requirements :
- One to three (1-3) years related experience and / or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- ServSafe Certification preferred within 6 months of hire.
