Wastewater Plant Manager
We want YOU to join our industry-leading non-hazardous liquid waste team in Houston Texas. We are seeking a leader and a change-agent for our operation in Houston as Plant Manager.
This is a full-time, permanent career that requires a hands-on, lead-by-example individual to drive the day-to-day operations of our wastewater facility.
You will be ensuring compliance with regulatory procedures and reporting practices. This role oversees sampling and testing systems, and the functionality of pumps, conveyors, blowers, and other equipment.
- Supervisory Responsibilities : Hire, train, and develop the plant operations teamManage team schedules and workConduct performance evaluations and handle disciplinary actionsOversee biosolids program and laboratory activitiesEssential Duties & Responsibilities : Manage all plant services and activitiesDirect staff in operating and maintaining the wastewater treatment plantEnsure wastewater quality meets regulatory standardsMonitor operations for compliance and address violationsSet productivity goals and manage costsProcure necessary supplies and equipmentImplement safety and accident prevention programsPlan and assign tasks to staffFoster a positive workplace culture through communication and trainingOversee plant maintenance and appearanceEnsure compliance with waste disposal regulationsRecommend and implement operational improvementsPrepare and submit regulatory reportsLiaise between construction and daily operationsMinimum Requirements : Education and / or Professional Designation : High school graduate or equivalent;
- BS / BA degree preferred; Wastewater Operator License (MSWB) or MSWA TCEQ license requiredExperience : 5+ years in management / supervisory roles;
- 8+ years as a wastewater plant manager; experience in the liquid waste industry preferredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities : Extensive knowledge of wastewater treatment, safety regulations, federal / state / local laws;
strong interpersonal skills; ability to analyze and solve problems; effective leadership and training abilities
