How you'll make an impact : The Senior Media Design Engineer is responsible for detailed broadcast system level design of a wide range of systems within SiriusXM's broadcast environments.

This position will work with Network Engineering and Infrastructure teams to design projects that will advance SiriusXM operational systems into the next generation of IT centric broadcast systems, implementing key modernized technology architectures and concepts that will supply the highest level of quality and reliability to subscribers.

The Senior Media Design Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting and refining design issues and implementing required changes to meet the requirements of assigned projects and support operational excellence as well as contribute to short and long-term strategic planning of broadcast technology.

What you'll do : Design, install and deliver complex broadcast systems within deadlinesTranslate requirements into conceptual and detailed designs and engineering solutions for broadcast systems that align with the company's technology goalsInterface with Vendors and System Integrators - Communicating project expectations clearly and concisely to allow outside entities to deliver their results in a timely fashionInterface with IT and Broadcast IT teams to design and implement :

Audio over IP (AoIP) workflowsSoftware Defined Network (SDN)Virtualized environments

Study product design and customer requirements performance standards to define project specificationsReview industry trends and new product lines to determine validity to current and future system designWrite and deliver required technical documentation prior to system hand off to stakeholdersConduct and document tests assuring safe and satisfactory product performanceLead multiple projects in various phases of development and attend related vendor meetings to track development path inclusive of :

Scheduling - Develop, hold to or communicate slips in scheduling in advance of deadlinesBudget - Understand actions that impact budget and communicate as soon as these are known

What you'll need : Five (5) years of experience as a design engineer, bringing projects from design to production, ideally in a broadcast field or similar 24 / 7 customer facing enterpriseThree (3) years of experience in broadcast and Media engineering or a related fieldBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science, IT systems, and / or project management or equivalent relevant experienceWorking experience or knowledge of the following infrastructure areas of interest :

ComputeStorageVMWareOperating Systems - Windows, Linux (various flavors)Cloud Based WorkflowsAPI'sSecurity

Working experience or knowledge of Broadcast Media systems such as :

Scheduling SoftwareAutomation SystemsPlayout SystemsRecord SystemsAudio Routing, Control and Content OriginationVideo RoutingSignal ProcessingMedia Asset ManagementFamiliarity with broadcast standards, such as SMPTE, AES, and MADI

SAt SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience.

These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $103,300 to $147,820 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.

Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
