The Manager of Strategic Communications is a valued member of the Business Strategies Communications team within the Office of the Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Operating Officer (COO).
We seek a thoughtful content creator to help tell the story of project and priorities within the COO portfolio, with a particular emphasis on .

Purpose
Reporting to the Executive Director of Strategic Communications, support communications activities and initiatives across the SVP / COO portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Creates, reviews, and edits written materials, including organizational web stories, internal messages and communications, digital content, and presentations in a timely manner
- Edits and reviews content. Contributes ideas to editorial calendar
- Assists the communications team in crafting strategic external communications
- Coordinates the distribution, tracking and assessment of media pitches and releases
- Manages media inquiries and coordinates interview requests that support a positive image of the University.
- Organizes and manages organizational events (e.g., townhalls, department-wide meetings, speaker series, etc.)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, public relations, or related field
- 5 7 years of related communications experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.)
- Media relations experience
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with content management systems, such as Drupal and Mailchimp, or similar systems.
- Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Videography, basic photography, and graphic design skills.
- Experience communicating with a large and varied audience.
Salary Range
$90,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
This position requires a physical presence in a standard office environment at the UT main campus and is not eligible for a regular remote or hybrid work at this time.
