Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Chief Engineer, the Steam-Refrigeration Eng (L) operates and maintains boilers, steam plant, refrigeration & air conditioning systems, and equipment. This position requires work hours from Tuesday to Saturday, 6 : 00 am - 2 : 30 pm.

Essential Functions

• Operates and maintains high-pressure / low-pressure boilers and associated systems and equipment.
• Monitors pressure, temperatures, and other equipment parameters; performs preventive maintenance and repairs on the system and associated equipment.
• Oversees operation of all refrigeration equipment and systems, including chillers, absorbers, compressors, pneumatic and digital controls, etc.
• Oversees the daily work assignments of the Watch Mechanic and may be periodically required to perform the duties of the Watch Mechanic.
• Coordinates all service calls to Boiler Room during hours when the Facilities Operations Call Center is closed.
• Maintains required plant and work request logs. Responsible for the cleanliness and appearance of assigned mechanical rooms.
• Monitors fuel consumption and verifies receipt of oil deliveries.
• Competency with BMS, digital & pneumatic controls.
