Job Details
The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) is responsible for delivering safe, effective, quality respiratory care according to the philosophy, goals, policies, procedures, and guidelines of Respiratory Care Services.
Utilizes the Relationship Based Care Model and the four C’s of the NorthBay Way to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for all assigned patients.
Makes determinations regarding patient progress toward goals and uses therapeutic professional relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote, maintain, and restore health.
Provides care according to the specific physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the patient.
Supports the mission, vision, values, and expectations of excellence of the organization.
Demonstrates ability to transfer scientific knowledge from social, biological, and physical sciences in applying the nursing process.
Provides care consistent with the interdisciplinary plan of care and grounded in Relationship Based Care principles.
Explains respiratory treatments to patients and families and educates them on respiratory care needs.
Demonstrates current working knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications.
Evaluates effectiveness of respiratory care treatments and modifies plans as needed based on patient condition and communication with health team members.
Acts as patient advocate to improve health care or change decisions against patient wishes, ensuring informed decisions are made.
Provides culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards of practice.
Acts as liaison coordinating patient care activities with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals.
Utilizes effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills to facilitate safe patient hand-offs.
Documents patient care per hospital policies and uses manual and automated information systems to improve efficiency and productivity.
Job Requirements
6 months post graduate acute care experience required.
