About The Position
Weekly Pay Range - $2733 To $3036 Job Title : Radiation Therapist Job Specialty : Radiation Therapy Job Duration : 8 weeks initial engagement Shift : Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : 1-year experience as a radiation therapist preferred License : Current State of California license in Radiation Therapy Technology (CRT-Therapy) Certifications : Current license with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Must-Have : Strong verbal and written communication skills- Basic computer skills- Ability to function effectively under stress- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of Radiation Therapy Job Description : Use ionizing-radiation producing equipment to administer therapeutic doses of radiation as prescribed by physicians for the treatment of disease, generally cancer.
- Expose specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed doses of radiation.- Maintain detailed records of all therapy sessions, noting information such as the area treated, radiation dosage, equipment control settings, patient's reactions, and total amount of radiation received.
- Operate all radiation-generating equipment as directed to deliver the prescribed radiation dose accurately, safely, and efficiently.
- Complete simulation / localization procedures as assigned.- Document treatment and setup parameters in the patient's medical record.
- Schedule treatment and simulation appointments and maintain the treatment schedule.- Observe prescribed radiation safety measures.
- Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) duties.- Fabricate immobilization and treatment devices as needed.
- Report equipment malfunction and maintain a log of repairs needed.- Report patient status to nursing and medical staff while the patient is undergoing radiation therapy.
- Maintain a professional and supportive attitude toward all staff members, patients, and their families.- Willingness to float to sister facilities and other departments as requested and qualified.
